Discriminatory Hearing is a physical exotic Advantage that grants the superhuman ability to distinguish between sounds. This might used as a rudimentary form of sonar--something direly important to stealthy action-themed protagonists.

Special Enhancements[]

  • Profiling (+50%) [23 points]
  • Usable only in Water (-30%) [9 points] -- this ability works as aquatic sonar.

Alternatives[]

  • Acute Senses are more cost effective, but can be "confused" with ambient noise. Think of "sound" as a piano being played--acute hearing lets you hear the piano further away, but discriminatory hearing can help you pick up more subtle notes hidden within a melody. Both are highly useful for spies and scouts.
  • Equivalent traits for vision and touch are Hyperspectral Vision and Sensitive Touch
  • Sonar (from Powers) and Enhanced Senses
