Important Note[]
Contrary to what GURPS Horror says[1] the Universal version was not always barely sentient. It actually speaks in Bride of Frankenstein and at the end of The Ghost of Frankenstein Ygor's brain was transplanted into the monster's body but due to blood type incompatibility he quickly went blind. The sequel, Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man, was supposed to reflect this change but allegedly because Lugosi's accent was unintentionally funny in early screenings it was removed resulting what appears to be an barely sentient monster. The whole "Monster with Ygor's brain" angle was ignored in later Universal films.
Furthermore, GURPS Horror totally ignores the Hammer versions which take the creature and later the concept in different directions. A variant of the monster is the Lord of Lamordia in the Domains of Dread

- Frankenstein Created Woman (1967): Involves a soul transfer with the woman who got the soul, and plastic surgery (Appearance, Beautiful), going on a revenge murder spree
