Friedrich is an echo in Quantum 3 where Friedrich I Barbarossa accomplishes his goals of cowing his vassal Henry the Lion into not deserting, conquering the Italian cities, conquering Jerusalem and finally cowing the Pope. Some believe his Knight Templar allies, reputed to be wizards, and his friendship with Wolfram von Eschenbac to be the source of his good luck.
Reich-5 found the world and arrived through the Chronobahn and have irrevocably altered the course of the world by assassinating Genghis Khan and bio-bombing Mongolia, throwning northern China into total chaos.

The Chronobahn runs from the Cilician Gates pass in the Taurus Mountains of southern Anatolia to the high scarp above Nicomedia, almost to the Black Sea. On its southeast end, the Chronobahn enters Nostradamus and on its northwest end, it shifts into Agamemnon. As the latter is a high mana world, aftershocks of reality quakes sometimes travel to Friedrich.
