Harry Williamson was the captain of the Saint Martha who knew clearly the route between England and Spain through the English Channel. The Martha and her crew were caught in a banestorm and delivered to Yrth.
Upon encountering a hamlet with marble buildings that he had not seen before, he was greeted by a human "Sergeant", who recognized Harry's mention of London. A goblin cleric – Father Hermann – arrived to greet them, prompting Harry to think he is a demon. The cleric explained to him the nature of his new situation.
