  • Despite the Red Baron's connection with the Fokker Dr.I 61 out of his 80 kills were done in an Albatros D.III
  • "Red Knight of Germany" in Issue #3 (1965) of the Ripley's Believe It or Not comic has Manfred making a 3 point landing even while mortally wounded.
