Classic[]
B248 and pg 49 of GURPS Martial Arts called it Throat as primary title but then uses "neck" in the text.
Two known mechanical difference are:
- the Decapitation rules were dropped in 4e.
- the "stunned if he takes total hits over 1/3 HT to the neck" rule was dropped: instead standard Major Wound rules apply
4e[]
GURPS Martial Arts 137 introduced Veins and Arteries while 138 had Neck Wounds Table
crippling[]
Normally can't be crippled at all, the closest being targeting the spine through the neck to create quadriplegic (worse than paraplegic when targeting through torso)
Mental Crippling is different, S127 allows it to be crippled at 1/3 HP like an extremity
This resembles the 1/3 stun threshold 3eB248 had for necks.
slams[]
Slams with Long Weapons on MA112:
- Using a long pole makes two options available that aren’t possible with ordinary slams and shield rushes. First, you can target the neck, at the standard -5 to hit.
grappling[]
https://gamingballistic.com/2013/11/07/errata-released-for-technical-grappling/ makes it part of just head instead of BOTH head and torso, in errata for GURPS Martial Arts: Technical Grappling
this was changed from 1.0 (sep) to 1.2 (nov)
