There is something strange about this reality.
Despite others such as Robert Koch[1], bacteriology as a science didn't progress. Similarly, despite the work of Lazzaro Spallanzani (1768), and Nicolas Appert' 1810 The Art of Preserving Animal and Vegetable Substances Pasteurization doesn't exist. Also antiseptics in the operating room never caught on.
WWI was stopped in 1917 by a series of influenza, cholera and plague epidemics with WWII ending much the same way in 1951.
