Obligate is a class of limitations introduced for Leech on page 21:
- Obligate Doleovore
- Obligate Metuovore
Sadly there is no Obligate Gaudivore, as the Gaudivore meta-trait on H12 is made differently.
Overview[]
Both are -50% limitations just as their opposite enhancements share a +20% value.
How the limitations work seems to operate differently depending on whether they are alone, or taken with their complementary enhancement to form a -30% meta-modifier
- kind of like Affects Insubstantial +20% taking Not Subtantial -50% to form Insubstantial Only -30%
the "Obligate" limitations set a "total HP drain" based on Fright Check MoF or "current pain penalty"
Interpretations[]
If "total" means "override" then there would be no value in taking more than 1 level of Leech with these.
If these merely set a cap then more levels would make sense to reach that cap. As that gets progressively harder, these are least limiting to the 1st level of Leech, because it is easiest to accomplish the "1 HP/second" requirements (MoF 1 fright check fails and Moderate Pain)
Combined with the enhancements, these appear to shift into working like "Accessibility" on the base advantage: the enhancements provide the same conditional bonus as they always do, but instead of the base "injury" applying to ALL targets, it only applies to targets to whom at least a +1 bonus would apply to.
LE combos[]
"Obligate While Vore" Limited Enhancements would be +10% and it's only useful if you can switch it off with Selecitivity (otherwise it's a waste of points). Switching it off has Leech work normally, switching it on has it work only under the condition, getting a bonus.
"Obligate While Accelerated" would be +13% and when switched on, replaces 1 HP with the bonus amounts and allows it to convert point for point.
