The concept of a Stabilizing Skill was introduced in the "Skills to Salvage Critical Failures" box of GURPS Thaumatology[1] and expanded under Extra Options in GURPS Thaumatology: Magical Styles as a perk[2]
GURPS Thaumatology: Magical Styles suggests this perk as part of Elemental and Theoretical styles.[3]. This perk should never be applied to Information Spells.
